What Year was my Watch Made?

It can sometimes be tricky to know what the date of your watch is, so here are the best ways to find out.

Box and Papers
If your watch still has its box and papers, that’s the most accurate way to find its registration year. The papers will usually include the watch’s registration date in order to provide a warranty for it - that’s the Year you’ll need to add to your watch listing.

Sale Receipts
If you don’t have the box and papers, a sale receipt from the original purchase of the watch (from new) will also give you a good idea of the year the watch was registered.

Asking Around
If there’s no paper trail for your watch at all, the next thing to do is to look online. Many watch manufacturers provide dating information in their serial numbers, so there are lots of websites and forums to help you find the registration date for your watch.
